“There’s no end to the publishing of books, and constant study wears you out so you’re no good for anything else. The last and final word is this: Fear God. Do what he tells you.” Ecclesiastes 12
I write to know my thoughts. I think to write things down. Yet God knows that is not all there is.
There is grace that gives freedom for contact, and for friendship through the holes in the fence. It’s is the relationships that stir the pigmentation of life.
Words
Shutter up the house and bolt the doors.
Sit and face one another without pain killers
or numbing agents.
Pull the plug and dare to wander into
hearts of separation.
Wounds without origin, so we think, we wish.
In search of love beyond us
yet it is so very much within us.
If I don’t sit across from you I will
never know the face of love and life.
Let us not stand in front of each
other making only assessments and
being tempted to flatter performance
over essence.
The T.V. has taught us to dress, to build,
to cook, to survive, to dance, only if someone
Is watching and opinionating.
Is it possible to get back to heart’s desires
underlined with purity,
to dress without a mirror,
to cook without a camera,
to live without surviving,
to dance before God naked?
May the written word never become
plexiglass between us.
May it begin as a screen
to filter through to each other.
brilliant piece.
